Namibia’s largest privately held company, Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group, led by Namibian businessman Sven Thieme, is set to become the sole shareholder of Dimension Data Namibia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards solidifying its stature as a leading Systems Integration and ICT solutions provider in the region.

The ambitious acquisition, pending regulatory approvals, represents a milestone for O&L Group, already riding high on Thieme’s success in leading the sale of a 50.01-percent stake in NBL Investment Holdings Limited to Dutch brewer Heineken N.V. in November 2021. The move positions O&L as a key player in Namibia’s ICT sector, signaling the company’s unwavering dedication to driving transformative change in the country’s technological landscape.

Thieme, the chairman of O&L Group, expressed confidence in the acquisition’s transformative potential, stating, “At O&L, we believe this acquisition empowers us to drive transformative change, innovate fearlessly, and compete fiercely in a technology-driven world.” He emphasized the strategic importance of becoming the sole shareholder of Dimension Data Namibia, enabling O&L to access global expertise and solutions while nurturing a genuinely Namibian brand.

Annalize Van der Merwe, Managing Director of Dimension Data Namibia, conveyed enthusiasm for this new phase and assured stakeholders, clients, and employees of a seamless transition. “While our shareholding structure changes, our technical collaboration with Dimension Data and NTT remains intact, providing access to global expertise and solutions as we develop a proudly Namibian brand,” she emphasized.

Van der Merwe reaffirmed O&L and Dimension Data Namibia’s commitment to job security and the development of a stable, experienced, and resilient Namibian workforce. She highlighted that the management structure would remain consistent, underscoring a commitment to providing a supportive environment for all employees.
