Richmond Bassey, the visionary Nigerian entrepreneur, is revolutionizing investment opportunities for everyday Nigerians and Africans through his innovative startup, Bamboo.

Bassey, a leader with the skills and vision to transform Africa’s financial landscape, kicked off his professional career in 2013 as a data analyst for Yookos in London. He also worked as the chief of staff at Helium Health, a healthcare technology company, before co-founding Bamboo with Yanmo Omorogbe.

As one of the young entrepreneurs who is dedicated to creating new opportunities for Africans, the Nigerian entrepreneur, and his digital investment platform, Bamboo,  are revolutionizing the way Africans can invest in the global capital market.

In 2019, he teamed up with Yanmo Omorogbe to launch Bamboo with the aim of democratizing access to global investment opportunities.

Bamboo’s goal is to provide Nigerians with real-time access to the US stock market and the Nigerian Exchange through their mobile phones or computers.

Bamboo’s cutting-edge innovation has been lauded by Y Combinator and Forbes, which chose the company to participate in its inaugural digital startup accelerator program in Nigeria, featuring 200 of the most promising startups.

Under the leadership of Bassey, Bamboo has attracted more than 50,000 active investors and executed almost 1 million unique trades.

The remarkable growth has not gone.

In 2022, the startup completed a $15-million Series-A funding round as part of a strategic move to expand its operations across Africa.

The $15-million capital injection is currently being deployed to expand Bamboo’s operations into new markets, launch innovative products, and develop technology infrastructure for smoother processes and faster withdrawals.

Earlier this year, the startup received a digital sub-broker license from the Nigeria Securities and Exchange Commission, which allows the company to offer a diverse portfolio of Nigerian securities through its platform.

Thanks to Bassey’s expertise and ambition, Bamboo is poised to revolutionize the African financial services industry by providing unprecedented access to investment opportunities.

Through Bamboo, Bassey is giving Nigerians the power to shape their financial futures and create greater personal wealth.
